Court Is in Session: Why Tether Court Exists
Every day the timeline holds a trial with no judge, no rules and no verdict. Somebody says Foundational Black Americans are “dividing the community.” Somebody else says lineage doesn’t matter. A tether drops a hot take for clout, a thousand people pile into the replies, and by nightfall nobody remembers what the argument was about. Nothing gets settled. Everybody just gets louder.
Tether Court is the fix. It is a real room, run live on X and TikTok by BeeReal, where the arguments people throw around online finally have to stand up to questioning.
Funny on purpose
Let’s be honest: some of what happens online is hilarious. The fake experts, the borrowed outrage, the accounts that argue with history and lose. The court is going to laugh at that, loudly. Comedy is how a lot of truth gets told.
Serious about the record
Underneath the jokes, the stakes are real. Foundational Black Americans have a lineage and a set of interests that deserve to be argued for, not shouted down. So the court has one serious habit: it checks the record. Claims need receipts. Both sides get the floor. The verdict comes after the evidence, not before.
Bring receipts. Let the other side finish. Argue the point, not the person.
Who can take the stand
Anyone with a case worth hearing. Bring a complaint about tether behavior or an attack on FBA. Answer a case someone has brought against you. Or come as a witness with the history the court needs. Pan-African voices who disagree are welcome too. A courtroom with only one side in it is just a pep rally.
How to get on the docket
File your case on the application page. Tell us who you are, what the case is, and what evidence you have. The clerk reviews every filing, and if yours is picked, you get a hearing date. Every hearing is recorded and posted on the hearings page, so the record stays the record.
All rise. Court is in session.
